Sintofen in Germany and the EU

Sintofen is a plant growth regulator that was long approved by the EU for use only in wheat seed. It has moderate toxicity to humans, is highly water-soluble and non-volatile. Due to its low potential to leach into groundwater, it is persistent in soils and has a high potential to bioaccumulate. Due to its water solubility, sintofen is readily detectable in food by LC-MS/MS.
