Eurofins Campus Hamburg receives gold certificate as a "bike-friendly employer”
Bike to work: Now made even easier for our employees
March 2024. Eurofins is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2025. As employee commuting is one of the largest sources of CO2 emissions at Eurofins Food and Feed Testing laboratories in Germany on the Hamburg campus, we are continuously working to create and promote more sustainable mobility options, such as cycling.
New offers for cyclists promote CO2 reduction and employee health

With the "cycling@eurofins" initiative, we are implementing a number of measures to optimise conditions specifically for cyclists. In recognition of these efforts, we were awarded the silver certificate as a "Bicycle Friendly Employer" by the German bicycle club ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club e.V.) for the first time in 2021. Since then, we have created additional theft-proof bicycle storage facilities and installed charging lockers and points for e-bikes on the campus in Hamburg. We also publish a quarterly internal cycling newsletter with seasonal themes, tips and cycling events, take part in the annual "Cycle to work" campaign and offer employees the opportunity to have their bikes checked and minor repairs carried out by a mobile service team on site once a year. We also took part in the German Climate Commute Challenge in 2023, which gave employees the opportunity to test various special bikes such as folding bikes, cargo bikes and e-bikes for their personal commute free of charge.
In December, the ADFC audited the Eurofins Campus in Hamburg again and awarded it the gold certificate as a "bicycle-friendly employer". "This is a great development and recognition of our efforts to promote more sustainable mobility for our employees. At the same time, it is an incentive to further increase the attractiveness of cycling and thus contribute to reducing emissions," says Managing Director Oliver Främke. "The extra exercise also has a positive effect on the health of our employees," adds Katharina Gramckow, employer branding expert and member of the Cycling@eurofins team. "We are particularly pleased that this initiative allows us to promote several aspects of sustainability at the same time and supports our holistic sustainability strategy," concludes Nadine Rudolph, Sustainability Manager and also a member of the Cycling@eurofins team.
