EcoVadis-Gold for Eurofins Food & Feed Testing laboratories
Transparency through independent sustainability rating
Oct 2023. Identifying and managing sustainability risks in the supply chain is becoming increasingly important, not least due to regulatory requirements such as the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG). In order to put their own sustainability performance to the test and to create transparency for business partners, the following Eurofins Food & Feed Testing laboratories in Germany have been assessed by EcoVadis to date:

- Eurofins GfA Lab Service GmbH (Gold, 2023)
- Eurofins WEJ Contaminants GmbH (Gold, 2023)
- Eurofins SOFIA GmbH (Gold, 2023)
- Eurofins CLF Specialised Nutrition Services GmbH (Gold, 2023)
- Eurofins Analytik GmbH (Silver, 2021 – Reassessment ongoing)
EcoVadis assessment
EcoVadis is an established global sustainability rating provider that has assessed more than 100,000 companies on their environmental, labour, human rights, ethical, and sustainable procurement performance.
The assessment includes 21 sustainability criteria based on international sustainability standards such as the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard and the ISO 26000 standard. In addition, the assessment is evidence-based. This means that each criterion is evaluated by EcoVadis analysts based on submitted supporting documents.
As a result, EcoVadis produces a so-called scorecard that transparently shows both the strengths and areas for improvement of existing sustainability commitments, measures and performance indicators.
The benefits
The EcoVadis assessment process creates a high level of credibility and comparability based on current sustainability standards. The externally independent assessment provides laboratories with important information to continuously develop their own sustainability management. At the same time, sharing the scorecard is an efficient way to provide business partners with reliable insight into the laboratories' sustainability performance.
Our ambition is to integrate sustainability as a central pillar of our business and to support our customers in meeting regulatory requirements for sustainability in the supply chain by transparently disclosing our sustainability performance. EcoVadis is very useful for both.
