Walter Wigger-Alberti, M.D. - CEO and Clinical Advisor Dermatology

A dermatologist by training, Dr. Wigger-Alberti obtained his M.D. from the University of Kiel, Germany. Following residencies in dermatology in Westerland, Germany and the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, he assumed a position in 1997 as attending physician and Head of the Skin Research Laboratory in the Department of Dermatology and Dermatological Allergology at the University of Jena, Germany. In 2001 Dr. Wigger-Alberti joined a dermatological CRO as Director of Clinical Research where he remained until joining Eurofins bioskin in April 2009. Dr. Wigger-Alberti also holds a position as lecturer in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Osnabrück.

Yi-Ling von Mackensen, M.D. - Medical Director

Dr. von Mackensen is responsible for medical oversight and dermatological consulting for the trials coordinated by Eurofins bioskin and leads a team of dermatologists and physicians within Eurofins bioskin’s own Research Center. After secondary studies in Canada, Dr. von Mackensen studied medicine and completed her M.D. and doctorate at the University of Kiel, Germany. She continued specialization in Kiel, St. Peter-Ording and Hamburg before being certified as a dermatologist and allergologist, gaining experience in clinical trials during this time. She has been at Eurofins bioskin since 2011.

Andrea Schmidt, Ph.D. - Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Schmidt, at Eurofins bioskin since 1999, oversees the clinical operations, which includes clinical trial management of single and multi-center trials in Europe, monitoring, data management, statistics and medical writing as well as the proposal and contract management. Dr. Schmidt holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Biology and an M.S. in Microbiology both from the University of Hamburg, and gained experience in the fields of essential oils, disinfectants and microbiological stability testing during that time.

Andrej Pischkow, M.A. - Director Quality Management

Andrej Pischkow is responsible for the area of Good Clinical Practice at Eurofins bioskin and oversees the infrastructure of the quality management system of the company. He is the key contact person for providing services of GCP Consulting/Auditing for the pharmaceutical industry and CROs. Andrej Pischkow began his career in Data Management at AstraZeneca in 2001. He joined Eurofins bioskin as a Clinical Monitor (CRA) in 2005, advancing to Lead Monitor before he moved 2009 into his current position as Director of Quality Management. Mr. Pischkow holds an M.A. in German and Slavic philology from the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University in Greifswald, Germany. He is a certified Quality Manager and Quality Auditor according to the European Organisation for Quality (EOQ).
