Field Evaluation Service (FES)
Individual Approvals for the North American Market especially for individual devices and small series
As an NRTL mark is often not feasible for individual devices or small series for cost and time reasons, our Field Inspection Service offers a fast and cost-effective alternative. This means that with our Field Evaluation Service you can avoid unnecessary risks such as delayed deliveries, the prohibition of commissioning with all its consequences (Red Tag), lengthy and expensive on-site rework and enormous liability costs.
Eurofins can support you with the Field Evaluation Service in three steps:
Step 1: Technical Meeting
We inform you about the general procedures and requirements of the North American market. We can carry out a preliminary test on existing machines or prototypes that have been manufactured for the European market or on the basis of technical documents of planned machines. In this way, significant non-conformities to the requirements for the USA or Canada are identified and can be considered during the development of the product before production begins.
Step 2: Pre-Evaluation in Europe
We perform an assessment of your product according to applicable North American standards. In this way necessary modifications can be realized before the product will be delivered to the North American market. This can save valuable time and costs at the final location in North America.
Step 3: Final FES at the installation site
At this stage, the product will be assessed at the installation site. The results of the pre-evaluation can be used for this and accelerate the process enormously. A "Final FES" outside the USA or Canada is only possible in very rare cases (e.g. for plug-in units).
